Details

The sun provides an abundent source of free and clean energy. Using modern solar panels we can harness this energy and turn it into electricity you can use and sell. Whether you use it or not you can earn money for every unit of electricity you generate through the government backed feed In Tariffs (FITs) scheme.

Solar PV is very simple, the panels use silicon (a semiconducting material) to convert light into electricity. The electricity produced is DC (similar to electricity stored in batteries), this is then converted to AC by and inverter to match the frequency of the electricity entering your house from the grid. The inverter is the "Brains" of the system, maximising the output from the panels and ensuring that its this electricity that is used first, rather than the electricty from the grid. Solar PV requires very little maintenance as there are no moving parts, and the panels are self cleaning in the rain due to chemical coatings on the glass. As the panels work on light intensity as opposed to direct sunlight, they will still generate electricity even on a cloudy day.
